Selena Gomez has called out a tasteless joke about her kidney transplant that aired on the CBS legal drama The Good Fight.
In the 17 July episode of the show, characters Marrisa, Jay, and Jim played by actors Sarah Steele, Nyambi Nyambi and Ifádansi Rashad discuss comedys so-called cancel culture, revealing jokes they think are too controversial.
Jay claims that comedians need a permission slip to tell a joke in todays climate, after which he asks his colleagues about jokes they felt were inappropriate.
Necrophilia, autism and Selena Gomezs kidney transplant, were some of the things Jays co-workers mention.
Gomez, 29, hit out on the scene on Twitter.

Then The Today Shows Savannah Guthrie brought up the fact that Gomez feels Raisa saved her life.

Later that year, during their Today Show interview, Selena Gomez revealed that she couldn’t ask anyone to sacrifice a kidney. But Francia volunteered after seeing Selena unable to do simple tasks like opening a water bottle. At the time, Selena said that the kidney transplant surgery was a matter of life or death for her.
Thankfully, the surgery went well, and both women have fully recovered from the transplant. Francia has proudly shown off her scars in bathing suit pics and crop tops over the past few years. But Selena, who required a second surgery after the initial transplant due to a complication, hasn’t shared much about her scars since her original post until now.

Unlike Francia, Selena’s scars aren’t just on her stomach. During the Today Show interview, Selena revealed that she had a very scary post-operation experience when the kidney she had transplanted flipped inside her body. As a consequence, she had to go back in for another surgery.
Francia explained to W Magazine that when Selena’s kidney turned, it broke an artery. She also explained why Selena has an additional scar on her leg, saying, “They had to take her into emergency surgery and get a vein from her leg and build a new artery to keep my kidney in place. She could have died.”

Selena Gomez Underwent Chemotherapy For Lupus But That Isn’t The Only Treatment Option
Lupus is a complex disease. Rather than one specific lab or imaging study to diagnose the disease, there are several criteria a patient needs to meet in order to be found to have lupus. These criteria may include antibody tests, arthritis affecting two or more joints, specific skin manifestations and rashes, mouth sores, neurological disorders, or kidney damage to name a few .

In 2018 Selena Gomez got a kidney transplant from her best friend, Francia Raisa. Selena developed kidney disease due to complications from Lupus, and autoimmune disease. Further, she developed complications after the surgery that required another operation in which a vein from her leg had to be harvested to reconnect the donor kidney. Thankfully she seems to be ok now.
While kidney surgery isnt plastic surgery, we are including it here as it has played a part in changing Selenas appearance. Lets take a look at some of the aftermath from that surgery.
There is a large bruise near the middle of Selenas back in the after photo that is not visible in the before. This is one of the side effects of the kidney transplant operation.
