Selena Gomez has called out a tasteless joke about her kidney transplant that aired on the CBS legal drama The Good Fight.
In the 17 July episode of the show, characters Marrisa, Jay, and Jim played by actors Sarah Steele, Nyambi Nyambi and Ifádansi Rashad discuss comedys so-called cancel culture, revealing jokes they think are too controversial.
Jay claims that comedians need a permission slip to tell a joke in todays climate, after which he asks his colleagues about jokes they felt were inappropriate.
Necrophilia, autism and Selena Gomezs kidney transplant, were some of the things Jays co-workers mention.
Gomez, 29, hit out on the scene on Twitter.
Are Selena Gomez And Francia Raisa On Talking Terms
In a more recent interview from 2021, Raisa discusses how NBC should have apologized to organ donors and not just Selena for their rude comments on Saved by the Bell.

Later that year, during their Today Show interview, Selena Gomez revealed that she couldnt ask anyone to sacrifice a kidney. Unlike Francia, Selenas scars arent just on her stomach. During the Today Show interview, Selena revealed that she had a very scary post-operation experience when the kidney she had transplanted flipped inside her body. As a consequence, she had to go back in for another surgery.
Francia explained to W Magazine that when Selenas kidney turned, it broke an artery. She also explained why Selena has an additional scar on her leg, saying, They had to take her into emergency surgery and get a vein from her leg and build a new artery to keep my kidney in place. She could have died.

Francia Raísa, the actress who donated her kidney to her best friend Selena Gomez has shown the scar resulting from the kidney removal surgery. She also told the story of how she came to the realization she was supposed to be Selena’s donor.

Explaining how the surgery was done, she said: “They inflate your stomach with gas so it could bloat up in order for them to be able to remove the kidney and take them down that trail and take it out like it’s a little baby.”
